Difference Between Male & Female Shoes
- A woman's foot and a man's foot are different in sizing because of the structure. A man's feet tend to be wider, longer and flatter than a woman's. Therefore the heel and the arches of the shoe will be wider. A woman's foot is narrower in the heel and higher in the arches. Typically the difference in sizes run between 1 1/2 to two sizes.
- Styles for men serve more towards function and durability. They can have a little bit of flair but typically stick to the brown and black tones to be interchangeable with outfits. Women's styles are bountiful. Shoes serve as more of an accessory than they do functionality. Colors, shapes, height, embellishments are all included in women's shoes.
- Our movements take the heaviest toll on our feet. They support the body in everything we do. Men and women both need support for their feet, but in different areas. Men with their flatter feet and wider heels will need less support in their arches than a women does.
- Sandals or clogs are two examples of unisex shoes. It's just a matter of finding the size that fits.
