Twitter Me Now Or Twitter Me Later
My activity on those sites almost comes to a stop when she is home for the summer.
Facebook I get, kind of! I don't know that I really want to know everything that is going on, however it is a great way to stay in touch with people and what they are doing.
Even if you don't have time to talk with them.
I can pop on for a few minutes to see if my daughter is online.
If she is, then I can chat with her.
If not, I can take a quick look around to see what is going on with family and friends.
Lots and lots of junk, but every now and then a nice nugget.
A little piece of information that can make me sad or happy.
Many emotions can take place and I find that amusing mainly because the human element is lacking in this form of communication.
I have over 10,000 followers on Twitter through several accounts.
I have multiple accounts mainly because I wanted to do some experimenting with this little social network.
One site I specifically told my followers not to bother if they were there to sell me something.
I did not want to hang out on a classified ad site.
I wanted open conversation with the individuals on Twitter.
I removed anyone from the site that sent any messages with any kind of URL tag to a message.
Needless to say, I spent a lot of time removing people.
It was a pleasant surprise, though, to find that the ones that did come to the site just to be sociable.
It was and always has been a pleasure to tweet with them and I hope to continue those relationships.
If Twitter could get rid of all the spam, it might be a nice place to hang out.
Until then, I'll stick with my peeps on the blogs and my family and friends on Facebook.
