    Asian - New Year

    • Asian dishes provide diners an exotic taste of the Orient. Appetizer options include pot stickers, miso soup, egg rolls, spring rolls and satay. Base main entrees around fish, beef, pork and chicken. Pad Thai is a popular noodle dish that you can prepare from lightly spicy to very spicy. Fried rice is a staple that can include various ingredients such as pineapple, seafood, shrimp and vegetables. Decorate your party space with Asian-style cloths and lanterns -- go all-out with a kimono dress code. Place pillows around a coffee table to serve as your dining area to reflect more traditional Asian customs.

Italian - Feast of San Gennaro

    • Traditional foods for a San Gennaro-themed feast include spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, baked ziti, cannelloni, tortellini, pizza, gnocchi and eggplant or chicken Parmesan. Complement the main dishes with many of the fine cheeses and wines from the Italian countryside that are counted among the finest in the world. Finish the meal with desserts such as tiramisu, torta della nonna, cantuccini, biscotti, panna cotta, and ricotta cheesecakes. Decorate the dining area in green, red and white in honor of the Italian flag and play classic Italian music to enhance the themed ambiance.

    American - 4th of July

    • Barbecuing has become the iconic dining activity for the 4th of July. Set the mood by decorating the yard in red, white and blue and choosing tablecloths, paper plates, napkins and cups printed with the American flag. Food such as corn on the cob, hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, chicken and pizza are staples. Desserts like apple pie, ice cream and chocolate cake give the meal an all-American finish. Stage a baseball game and swimming races, and set out dominoes and a horseshoe game for entertainment. Wrap up the event with a fireworks show, if it's legal in your area.

    Mexican - Cinco de Mayo

    • Mexican Independence Day has grown into a wildly popular event in the United States, so join the fun by hosting a Cinco de Mayo party complete with sombreros, piñatas, tequila and great food. Mexican favorites such as tacos, burritos, tostadas, chimichangas and salsa promise a spicy and flavorful dinner. Roasted pig, roasted corn, grilled chicken and tortas broaden the themed menu options beyond the obvious. For dessert, serve churros, flavored shaved ice and flan. If you've got the budget and can find one, a mariachi band would cinch your party's "unforgettable" status.
