Once the school holidays are over it is vital to get your kids back into a regular routine in preparation for school.
The quicker you can get your kids to follow certain routines the easier it will make your task of sending them off to school without any problems.
Regular routines means making sure that the kids are getting up and having their breakfast at the same time every morning on school days, a good way to manage this is to make sure that they have a set time to go to bed at night, this has to be strictly adhered to, there is no point allowing them to stop up on certain nights and then getting up late in the morning.
When your kids come home from school try to encourage them to complete their homework straight away and then get things ready for the morning, this will allow them to have some leisure time before they go to bed at night, and they will not feel as though it is all school and sleep.
Get your kids in to the habit of sorting their uniforms out at night for the next day at school, and get into a regular habit of bathing.
Cleanliness is vital to your kids well being.
A regular routine also means leaving for school at the same time every morning.
This is vital if they have to catch public transport.
Do not let them play on their game consoles or computers in the morning as this could affect their time-keeping.
Routines can be healthy for kids.
If they know what to expect in the mornings then they will go about their duties automatically.
This will make their lives easier because they control the amount of time it takes to get ready.
This way they do not get stressed or panicked about last minute problems.
Our daily routine also means learning to look after our appearance and making sure we eat the right things to keep us healthy.
Instilling this in kids when they are younger makes it easier to follow when they get older.
