How to Build Successful Project Teams
- 1). Make a list of everything that needs to be accomplished to complete your project. Start with a basic title of each task and write out a clear, detailed objective, explaining what must be done.
- 2). Figure out how many people are needed for your project. If there are five large items on a list, you might need to assign it to five people. Or each task could require a team of two. Think about the amount of work needed for each task and your project's deadline.
- 3). Go down the list and write in several names of employees who might excel at each task. Try to assign at least three choices for each task, in order of preference.
- 4). Check to see if you've doubled up employees on more than one task. If you've chosen a different employee as your first choice for each task, then move on. If you've doubled up and assigned your superstar employee to three tasks, decide which task he or she will perform the best and give the next two tasks to your second and third choices.
- 5). Look over your list and make sure that you've paired a team that works well together and has the experience necessary to excel with your project.
