Haunted Stereo
The 0 volume setting was set at 9 o'clock, and the 10 volume setting was set at 3 o'clock, so the knob was only capable of turning in a half circle.
One night, shortly after moving in, I awoke in the middle of the night to static coming through the speakers. (The stereo was plugged in, but not turned on.) Very slowly, the static got louder and louder. I got out of bed, turned on the lights and took a look at the stereo. And as the static continued to get louder, I sat there and watched, plain as day, as the knob turned itself (the red LED light was as bright as could be) all the way to max volume, and then continued to turn clockwise all the way back to zero! As soon as it hit zero, the static stopped and the red indicator light shut off.
I don't own the stereo anymore, but I am damn sure that if you tried to turn that knob clockwise past 10, or counter clockwise past 0, you would break the knob, since it could only turn a half circle. But I sat there in the middle of the night, with the lights on, and watched it turn a complete circle.
With everything I've read on this site and others, and what I've read about EVP, I can only imagine what horrors I would have found if I had somehow recorded that radio static. The whole experience still sends chills up and down my spine to this day. Thank you for reading my story. It's the honest truth.
