Several family members experience mysterious knocks

During the winter of 2009, there were some deep snows. One snow was at least 24 inches. Our next-door neighbor came out and told my husband that he would help finish digging out the lane the next day, since it was getting late in the evening. Ten o'clock the next day was suggested.

At about 8:00 a.m., my husband and I were lying in bed asleep when suddenly loud bangs on the side of the wall woke us up.

We both thought it was our neighbor. I went to the window to see, but there was no one there. When we finally went outside, there were no marks in the snow anywhere around the house. I was able to check the roof from the lane and nothing had fallen on the roof from the tree next to the bedroom window.

When I went to visit my son a couple days later, he said the same kind of thing happened at his home. He was sitting on a chair by the door to the back room. There was loud banging on the door to the outside. All he had to do was lean out and look toward the door to see who was out there. No one was at the door or in sight in the street.

A third incident happened at his other property. He and his wife drove to the trailer to check on whether there was any snow damage, and while he was checking around the back side of the trailer, his wife was sitting in their truck. She said there was a sudden banging on the door beside where she was sitting, and she could see in the outside mirror that there was no one there.

We concluded it must be my late mother and his grandmother. She lived with me at my home with him at his trailer, and the house where he now lived was hers. Why she would want to come back from where ever she went was a mystery to us.
