How to Care for a Peace Lily That Is Not Flowering
- 1). Stop watering the plant until it withers down.
- 2). Move the plant to a darker location in your home, but do not keep it in total darkness.
- 3). Mist the plant lightly each day over the next six to eight weeks.
- 4). Move it a sunny location with indirect light.
- 5). Water the lily heavily to revitalize the plant and encourage new growth.
- 1). Fertilize the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month. If the leaf edges start to burn, you've overfertilized the plant; dilute the fertilizer more to prevent burning the lily.
- 2). Water the plant about once a week so that the soil is moist but not soggy. Pour off excess water from the pot, if necessary. Exact amounts of water depend on the size of your plant, previous moisture level and the amount of light the plant receives. Although you should let the soil get slightly dry between waterings, never allow the soil to completely dry out.
- 3). Wipe dust off the leaves of the plant with a soft, damp cloth. Dust-free leaves enable the plant to receive the most amount of sun possible and grow stronger.
