How to Make Unique Wedding Card Holders

    • 1). Choose a large box with a cover to house the invitations. The box should be wide enough and deep enough to hold many cards of a variety of sizes. Purchase a large card from the store to test the box size.

    • 2). Lay the fabric over and around the box and box cover and cut down to a similar size. Glue the fabric down onto the box and trim any excess away, or tuck the extra fabric in the inside of the box and glue it down.

    • 3). Cut a slit in the top center of the box lid, approximately a third of an inch wide, to make for easy insertion of cards. Use the purchased sample greeting card as a guide for determining the length of the slit.

    • 4). Add decorative elements like seashells, beading, flower pedals, ribbon or even photos. For an elegant look, try a simple bow out of a silk or satin ribbon. For a fun, beach feel, cover the box with seashells and sand, glued down. A romantic touch could include glued-on rose pedals around a black and white photo of the couple. Use beads to spell out the couple's initials for a personal touch.
