    City of Turia

    • The city of Turia is depicted in the novel series as grand and luxurious, and is located in the western part of the world of Gor. The area is known for its expansive plain lands, named the Plains of Turia, which host various tribes of individuals: the Wagon People. The city itself is well-protected, depicted as "a high, white-walled city with nine gates." Like the other cities mentioned in the book series, Turia has its own distinct culture, foods and drinks. Certain foods common to many parts of Gor are considered delicacies in Turia.

    Tospit

    • Tospit is one type of fruit in Turia of Gor. The fruit is depicted as juicy but bitter and yellow in appearance. Another name for tospit is the seaman's larma, due to the high level of vitamin C gained from eating it. The type of tospit found in Turia is usually long-stemmed in appearance with an even number of seeds. This makes them different from the tospit found outside of Turia, as most contain an odd number of seeds. These Turian variations only become available to the population of the city in the late summer.

    Cosian Wingfish Liver

    • Various breeds of fish are widely eaten in Turia, with certain parts of fish consider a delicacy in the city. The Cosian wingfish liver is one such delicacy. This breed of fish is characterized by its blue scales, small size and poisonous dorsal fins. The name of the fish comes from its ability to fly about water for limited periods of time. Despite being popular in Turia, the Cosian wingfish is mainly found in the waters close to the city of Cos.

    Vulo Eggs and Brains

    • The vulo is a type of bird eaten in many cities in Gor, including Turia, where the eggs and the brain of the vulo are considered a particular delicacy. The bird is characterized by its tawny feathers and its resemblance to chickens and pigeons. Vulo meat is usually roasted over burning coals, while the eggs are fried and eaten as a breakfast meal. The brain is spiced and eaten as part of a main meal in Turia.
