- 1). Open the AVG program by double-clicking the icon or clicking the icon in your system tray.
- 2). Select the "Advanced Settings" from the "Tools" tab on the menu bar.
- 3). Click "Temporarily disable AVG protection" from the left side of the options to highlight it. Place a check mark beside the same option again in the box that appears.
- 4). Press the "OK" button.
- 5). Select the length of time you wish to keep AVG disabled, choosing the time that fits your needs from the drop-down options.
- 6). Click "Disable real time protection" and then "OK."
