One of the worst things about acne is that even after managing to get rid of the spots themselves, many people find themselves left with unsightly marks or scars.
Not surprisingly, these scars can be very difficult to deal with and can lead to the sufferer becoming very self conscious and lacking confidence.
There are many treatments available for acne scars, some of which need to be carried out by a qualified medic.
However, very often simpler remedies can be surprisingly effective and much less expensive.
Here are some helpful tips on how to heal acne scars using readily available essential oils: Vitamin E Vitamin E is now widely accepted as being very good for all types of skin.
Given that acne scars can actually be caused by a lack of vitamin E, it stands to reason that applying the vitamin to skin affected by acne scars can be hugely beneficial.
If your finances allow, choose an organic vitamin E preparation and apply it to the skin (after cleansing) by massaging in a circular motion.
For best results, apply three to four times each day.
Almond or jojoba oil Almond oil and jojoba oil both have the same benefits for skin as vitamin E.
These oils also have the added benefits of essential fatty acids which are known for their healing properties.
As with vitamin E, the oil should be applied into the skin in a circular motion.
You should ensure that your skin is clean and dry prior to application.
Aloe Vera Another method you can use to treat acne scars is with Aloe Vera.
Aloe Vera is known for its cooling and soothing properties that aid in keeping your skin healthy.
Another benefit of Aloe Vera is that it reduces any swelling that is brought on by scarring.
Although you should notice results within a couple of weeks of using these treatments, it's a good idea to continue application beyond this time period.
Your acne scars should continue to fade with prolonged use of the oils and additionally, this should help to prevent the appearance of new scars.
