Trying to find the cure for acne can be like searching for gold in a massive forest.
The reason why it is not always easy is because the root cause of acne is different for each person.
An individual may actually have more than one thing causing their acne, which means that several lifestyle factors need to be addressed.
Finding the cause for each person does take some investigative work, but it can be done.
The time it takes to actually clear acne all depends on the person.
For some people acne will clear up rather quickly, while others will need to make serious changes for months or even longer.
Acne is also very unpredictable because you can cure acne for a while, and then it can come back years later when your hormones have shifted or when you are going through a stressful period in your life.
Acne can also creep back into your life if you go back to old habits that caused your acne in the first place.
For instance, if you found out that the primary cause of your acne was due to a toxic liver and you go back to eating foods that made your liver toxic in the first place, then you are likely to start experiencing break outs again.
In many cases acne is a response to something we are doing to our bodies over time.
In order to find the root cause of your acne there are few questions you should ask yourself.
What is my diet like? The old Indian proverb "you are what you eat", is a very true statement.
Our entire bodies are composed of proteins carbohydrates and fats and most importantly water.
Our cells gather raw material from the foods that we eat on a daily basis.
This raw material comes in the form of vitamins minerals, amino acids and essential fats just to name a few.
Over time it will become abundantly clear what we have been eating by the appearance of our skin nails and hair.
If we have been eating a poor diet we can become deficient in certain nutrients creating a domino effect that can result in anemia fatigue and general poor health.
Some people who eat a bad diet will not get acne, but instead they will have uneven skin, dry skin, or even premature wrinkles.
However, some people will develop acne because of the foods they consume.
To address this problem read my other article titled: The Acne Cleansing plan through diet and special cleanses.
In addition, our cells also use water to transport nutrients, filter out toxins, and maintain health.
When we don't consume enough pure water our bodies become even more toxic.
These toxins can cause our skin to flare up, resulting in acne.
If you want to remain acne free or at least have less acne it is very important to drink 8 to 10 glasses of pure water each day.
You will need more if you spend time in the sun or if you exercise.
Am I really using the right products for my skin type? Another thing that can actually cause acne is irritation from using the wrong products on your skin.
Know what type of skin you have.
If your skin produces a lot of oil all throughout the day and your forehead tends to be very shiny, then you probably have oily skin.
However, if you your skin is only oily in certain areas such as your four head nose and chin, and your skin is dry on your cheeks, then you have combination skin.
Most people who suffer from acne typically have oily or combination skin, but in some cases acne can also be caused by dry skin due to irritation.
Our skin responds everything we put on it and even sensitive skin can be prone to acne.
Our skin will respond if we put something harsh on her face and we may not even know that we are allergic to a particular ingredient that could be in our favorite face cream.
If you suspect that your acne could be caused to buy products you are using then you will need to conduct some experiments in order to find out if this is true.
Sometimes less is more when it comes to our skin.
It may be necessary to stop using all of your products for a few days and gradually add different products to your routine over time.
Find products that work well with your skin type, and give each new product at least one week to see how your skin responds.
Sometimes you may need to test products for 2 to 3 weeks to really know if it is going to be beneficial or not.
This process can be rather time consuming especially if you suffer from sensitive skin.
If you notice that your skin becomes red and raw easily than opt for products that cater to sensitive skin specifically.
If the product is formulated for sensitive skin it is less likely to cause irritation.
Sometimes you face will break out slightly when you try a new product because your skin is adjusting.
Honey based products tend to be the best for acne prone skin.
Is my life too stressful? Acne can also be caused by stress.
When we are stressed out our hormones shift and our immune response is lower.
Our state of mind has a big impact on our overall health and the effects of stress can be seen on the skin.
If your life is too stressful do what you can to change it.
How do you react to things? Are you too sensitive? Can you make changes to reduce the stress? Are you yelling and constantly arguing with your spouse? If so then get counseling.
If you feel stressed, take a break.
Go on a walk or take a hot bath.
Practice deep breathing.
You can also take additional B-vitamins daily in order to combat stress.
B-vitamins support your nervous system these vitamins can affect how you respond to stress.
Examine your life and see how you can make a change.
Take charge of your life.
