Definition: The Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada is responsible for reviewing and investigating disclosures by federal public servants and members of the public about wrongdoing in the federal government as well as reprisal complaints from current and former public servants. The Integrity Commissioner also provides information and guidance to individuals who are considering making a disclosure about wrongdoing or a reprisal complaint.

The Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada is an Officer of Parliament and reports directly to Parliament. The Commissioner is appointed for a term of seven years.

The Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner was created in 2007.
