There are several types of herbs.
That is why they are classified into groups.
As usual there are different kinds of classifications.
One of the most commons is according to their use.
In this group we have: 1.
Culinary Herbs - you can tell only by the name.
This category includes the ones you can use in meals.
Some examples of culinary herbs can be basil, cumin, parsley, oregano, etc.

Medicinal herbs - these plants can be used to heal bug bites, stomach aches and even to be more relaxed.
Examples of these herbs are Echinacea, aloe vera, lemon grass, peppermint, etc.

Ornamental herbs - they can also be used for garnish.
For example, you can turn a lavender plant in potpourri for your clothes or even to make gifts.

Aromatic herbs - other of many herb uses is to make fragrances or perfumes.
You exploit the oil of the plant and create different and exquisite scents.
Other very important herb classification is according to their period of life.
They can be separated into biennials, annuals and perennials.
Annuals are the plants that grow and die over the year.
Chervil and Borage are examples of annuals.
Biennials are the ones that take two years to complete their process.
Parsley and Salvia are biennial herbs.
Perennials are the plants that live over two years.
Melissa and Rosemary are perennial plants.
This classification is essential because you need to know the herb cycle in order to grow, harvest and more important preserve them.
