Drinking and Driving Offenses - What to Expect If You Are Charged!
This type of an offense could change your life for good and you could end up with a new type of lifestyle.
Here are some things you need to know about when it comes to these offenses.
The first time offender will face a 90 day license suspension at minimum, a day or two in jail, some probation, and possibly some community service.
These are the very minimum and you can really get much worse if you put someone in danger or you have something else on your record in the past.
This does not include the insurance rates going up and all the fines.
Those that are on their second drinking and driving offense will face much stiffer penalties.
You could be spending a year in jail, but most likely it will be 30 to 60 days depending on the area and the judge.
You will also get between a year and two years of license suspension and probably about the same for probation.
The fines will be worse and the insurance will be even higher.
If you are actually facing your third of the drinking and driving offenses, then you should be ready to spend at least 6 months in jail and as much as 3 years.
You could also be subject to a lifetime suspension of your license and at minimum 3 to 5 years of suspension.
You will spend time on probation and you will pay some pretty high fines as well.
You might have to go to AA as well.
