Do Registry Cleaners Work? Really?

There is a lot of hype about registry cleaners and their ability to solve PC problems, particularly those of a slow computer.
A lot of people have slow PC problems - it take ages to load up Windows, or ages to switch between programs, or programs run so slow they become unresponsive.
To make this worse users often "kill" programs using the task manager making the system less stable overall especially if the stop the wrong tasks.
A registry cleaner can help if the speed issue is due to an overfull registry.
It is worth giving a registry cleaner a go to see if it can instantly speed up your PC.
Here are my 3 favourite tips for choosing a registry cleaner: Pick an reg cleaner that is established.
Reg cleaners that have been in the market place for many months are the best to go for.
You don't want to be someone else's guinea pig.
A good looking site can show an investment and commitment to their product.
Think free trial! Free trials are common (and in my opinion necessary) to establish if (a) the product will work on your brand of PC and version of windows and (b) if you can easily operate it and (c) if it picks up a reasonable number of registry errors.
Always get a free trial first before deciding whether to buy.
Reviews Sites A good review site will explain why a certain cleaner is the best, and not just to a tick-in-the-box comparison of features.
More features doesn't necessarily mean more quality, or that your slow PC problem will be solved.
