When you are a dog owner you must check your dog's health on a regular basis to ensure that it is in sound health.
One of the most common areas in a dog that a person needs to check in his dog is his nose.
A dog has the tendency to suffer from a dry nose and this is mainly due to the reason of infection.
The main reasons for a dry nose are an allergy that arises due to plastic.
You can limit the exposure of this allergy by the usage of stainless steel bowls and water bowls that can reduce the symptoms.
If your dog is exposed to the sun for a long period of time, there is a possibility of your dog's nose being dry due to sunburn.
This can be best treated with aloe that helps to cool and soothe the area.
You can prevent future problems with the use of sunscreen.
Another reason for a dry nose can be an injury especially when there are scabs or sores on the animal's nose.
If you notice discharge from your dog's nose you must get him to a doctor as he needs medical treatment immediately.
There can also be the possibility of a skin disease called pemphigus foliaceus that is an autoimmune and results in blisters on the nose and the feet.
These blisters burst and the crust that is formed makes it difficult for the dog to breathe.
You should monitor the changes in your dog's nose and if you identify anything abnormal you must immediately take him to a doctor.
