5 Things You Can Do to Improve Your Website
But, it can be so much more.
Unlike a brochure which provides the reader information, your business website can actually attract business and help you analyze where your leads are coming from.
Add text content and pages: Photos and videos are a great addition to any website.
But, the search engines need words and text to sift through websites and pull them up during a search.
If your business website is full of photos and videos rather than text, then the search engines, and potential customers, are going to miss your website.
If you offer a variety of services and products try to offer each on its page.
Describe the service or product.
Describe its advantages and disadvantages.
How it compares to similar products.
Explain what the industry says about it.
Is it new? What kind of reviews does it get? Certainly, you can include photos and videos, but include plenty of text content as well.
Research and include keywords: Be sure to do some keyword research while writing the content so you know what related keywords people are searching for.
Include those keywords in your text in the headline and in the first and last paragraphs.
Include your location: Be sure to include on each and every page of your website your business address.
At least include the city, state and country so that the search engines can find your business when they search for terms related to your business and a location.
For example, if a customer is searching for a contractor, that customer is going to include his location with the search term "contractor" so the search only yields contractors which include that location on their website.
Include meta tags: Meta tags aren't visible on your website.
But, they are visible when a search engine pulls up your listing.
This little bit of text can act as a small promotional trailer to entice people to click on to your website link.
Before someone even enters your website, you've given them information about your business through the meta tag.
Add analytics: Add analytics to your website so that you can figure out how many people visit your website every day, week, month and year.
Analytics will also let you know where you're getting visitors from, how long they're staying on website, whether they're clicking through your pages and more.
These 5 tips will help improve your website and improve you online marketing efforts.
