Let's start this off by making a point that rosacea acne is not acne.
They are two separate skin conditions each with their own set of unique symptoms.
Rosacea acne commonly affects females between the ages of 30 and 60.
It is not uncommon for men to suffer and unfortunately when the problem does occur in males it is usually somewhat more severe.
There is currently no known cure for the condition, although relief can be obtained with the advice of a specialized dermatologist.
The main characteristic of rosacea is the reddening of the face.
It is thought to appear more common to those who blush frequently, in the early stages of the condition it may be hard to distinguish between the two due to its intermittent nature.
Early signs can sometimes be found when applying moisturizers or lotions to skin causes irritation or burning.
Progression of the condition causes the redness to become more frequent and severe in color, some sufferers report to having a thickening of skin especially around the nasal area.
Sufferers are often prescribed with topical antibiotics to help calm the inflammation, other options include oral medication or a combination of the two.
Treatment using lasers has also been implemented to some degree of success, physically burning the prominent blood vessels away.
Surgery is also an option if there is any unfortunate, severe disfigurement.
Due care should be taken to look after the skin if you suffer from rosacea acne.
Mild soaps should always be used and never with water that is too hot or cold.
Care should also be taken with regards to sunlight.
