How to find your Internal IP Address in Windows

    • 1). Click on the "Start" menu. This menu should be on the bottom left hand corner of the page, but if you set the position of the start menu somewhere else, click on it there.

    • 2). Inside the start menu, there should be a command called "Run". This is sort of like the "terminal" of Windows. Click on the Run command. If you can not find this command, you can search for it in the textbox (Windows Vista only ). It should be there for previous versions of Windows.

      Click on Run.

    • 3). Type in CMD. This stands for command.

    • 4). After clicking, a black box should appear. Type in "ipconfig" and hit the enter button on your keyboard. A menu should appear in the terminal similar to the one that is my image for this post. Look for where it says IPv4 IP Address (yours may be different, just look for the row that says ______ address). This is the number that you want. Most of the times, your internal IP is something like 192.168._._, where the blank spaces are additional numbers.
