2 Simple Yoga Poses
There are many different types of yoga poses for you to perform.
If you are just beginning yoga, you want to stick with beginner yoga poses.
You do not want to start off with the most difficult poses as your muscles are not used to it.
In the end, you will only end up sore or worse-injuring yourself.
Yoga poses for you to perform include: The Mountain Pose- This yoga pose is a simple one that you may want to start out with.
First you will stand with both of your feet completely touching each other from the inside.
Remember to keep your back straight at all times.
Keep your hands gently pressed up against the sides of your body.
Your palms should be facing inward.
Now you want to slightly tighten your knees, thighs, buttocks and stomach.
Remember to keep your back straight.
Make sure that your weight is even on each foot.
Deeply inhale (through the nostrils-exhaling is through pursed lips).
Arch your back while you lift the buttocks.
Push your abdomen forward.
Lastly, tilt your head back.
The Bow Pose- This pose is more difficult.
You will lie on your stomach on your yoga mat.
Your head should be turned to one side.
Your arms will be along the side of your body and your palms will be facing in the upward position.
Next you want to turn your head and place your chin onto the mat.
Exhale and bend your knees.
You will reach back and grab onto your ankles with each respective hand.
(right hand, right ankle; left hand, left ankle.
) To continue with this yoga pose you will inhale and gently raise your legs when you pull the ankles up.
Your knees should be off of the mat as well as your chest.
You should only feel your body weight on your abdomen.
Now tilt your head back.
Hold at the same time as you hold your breath after inhaling.
Lastly, slowly exhale while your knees slowly touch the mat, let go of your ankles and bring the rest of your body onto the mat.
Turn your head to either the left or the right side.
