How to Germinate the Mosquito Plant (Agastache Cana)
- 1). Fill a seed tray with well-draining potting soil, available from garden centers or nurseries.
- 2). Set the seeds on top of the soil and cover them with ½ inch of soil. Do not bury the seeds, as they will not receive the proper light and nutrients if they are buried too deep.
- 3). Store the seed tray in a room that is constantly at a temperature between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. This warm temperature will promote germination.
- 4). Set the seed tray in an area where it receives indirect sunlight for two to three hours per day. This light will help to promote growth.
- 5). Water the soil when the first 1 inch becomes dry. Do not overwater, as the seeds can drown. The seeds will germinate within four to 12 weeks. Transfer the plants to larger pots or your outdoor garden in late spring or early summer when they are tall enough to handle without breaking, generally at least 6 inches tall.
