Devil in the Details
Discontent and unhappy The controlling wife said After the family is fed Back to the pity party The comparison celebration Depression and isolation Occasionally she arises With glances she despises The bad and brutish attitude Is well beyond disguises She nags on, murmuring more Angrily ready to even the score As if we should be tabulating Irritating and aggravating Cold, cruel, and calculating Pretentious, proud, and loud Hubby recalls what he said and vowed But realizes it won't be all that easy Matrimony accompanied with difficulty Acknowledging he is a contributory Cause of this painful dilemma For if there were not two We would not fight and argue Demonize, terrorize, and spew Ravenous venom through Our wide open mouths By which we do arouse The terrible tension Which we espouse To contaminate our house By careless, belligerent words Planting lies and accusations Satan divides us for recreation.
Ensnaring our precious souls Strife surely takes its toll Leaving us fragmented Broken and not whole Too heavy in heart to be joyful Too nervous to be peaceful The devil in the details deceitful.
