Planning a wedding can be hard work and probably one of the more stressful events you'll experience in your life. However, it doesn't all have to be hard work and it certainly doesn't all have to be expensive. The idea of the wedding has changed over the years. Now when you first start planning your wedding, you effectively have a blank canvas to do with as you please.
It all sounds great, but it also sounds a bit overwhelming. How can you put a stamp of individuality on your wedding that sets it apart from all the rest? There are only so many ideas and it can be a real struggle to come up with something truly unique. Well, don't worry too much; there are plenty of things that you can do to set your wedding apart, and none of it has to break the bank.
As the old saying goes, the devil is in the details; you can really start getting creative once you've got all the big stuff out of the way. Let's take a look at some of the little things you can do to make your wedding that bit more special.
Flowerless Flowers
Bouquets can cost a bucket load and usually racks up more spending than you'd initially expect. It's a rather big ask considering that the flowers don't even last, so why not make your own bouquet out of something a bit more permanent?
There are a few clever, creative options here that can make a bouquet go much further than real flowers could. Learn a few basic Origami tricks and you could make a bouquet of paper flowers all the colours of the rainbow! Even playing cards can be used. Alternatively, there are companies that will make delightful bouquets made out of buttons and other more sustainable items.
Once the wedding's over, a flowerless bouquet can make for a great bridal keepsake.

Nostalgic favours
Wedding favours aren't compulsory but they can certainly sweeten up the proceedings a bit. They can be the perfect way to thank all the people involved in your big day, but you can also surprise your guests with them too!
Wedding favour sweets are becoming increasingly popular because they are inexpensive and have a certain nostalgic charm to them. You can make orders from any sweet shop online, mix and match your bags and leave them on the tables as an extra surprise for your guests. Who knows, once the wine starts flowing your guests might be grateful for a few sweet treats!

DIY Decorations
Table decorations range from the subtle to the ostentatious, and because it's the wedding industry they can set you back a bundle, but it's incredible what you can do with the bits and bobs that you find while out shopping. If you see something that takes your fancy in a charity shop or something similar, go ahead and buy it. There are some gorgeous lanterns, candleholders and ornaments all buried in the darker recesses of the shopping world; all it takes is a little digging!
From paper flowers to sweet hamper gifts as favours, there are lots of quirky little touches that can make your big day stand out from the rest. It's surprisingly simple and incredibly effective, all you really need is to do a bit of looking around and the ideas will start rolling in!
