Relieving Dry Skin
Once your skin has gone dry, it will seem lifeless and parched.
As a matter of fact, your skin may even start to crack if it dries out too much.
Luckily, options abound for ways to fix your scaled exterior and give you back your supple skin.
The first port of call has to be standard moisturizing creams, as they are proven and tested.
They are great for all skin types, but especially those with dry skin.
Some people whose skin is oily may actually be applying astringents that will dry their skin unless they are careful.
Thus, even they should be using moisturizers to maintain dermal fluidity.
For those with oily skin, you should be applying a moisturizer that is low strength and contains no oils.
On the other hand, if you have dry skin, go for the full strength moisturizer, you need it! Another thing to look out for is things like soap and body butter, these should be soft and low strength.
Once you get out of the shower, you should cover yourself in moisturizer to ensure that the water is trapped in the epidermal layer.
Try not to have long baths as this actually dries the skin out, surprisingly.
Furthermore, as well as moisturizer, you should always protect your skin from the sun.
Not just when it is hot but all year round, especially if you are outdoors a lot.
Sun protection has the added advantage of not only keeping the sun's harmful rays of your skin, but acting as barrier to moisture loss.
When it is cold, or if you live somewhere dry, you could also invest in a humidifier.
This will ensure that the air stay moist and your skin won't dry out as much.
