How to Paint Stripes on Bedroom Walls
- 1). Using your paint roller, paint the entire room in the lighter of the two colors. Allow the paint to dry completely.
- 2). Use the yardstick and level to measure the location of the stripes. Begin by marking where each stripe will begin and end. Then circle the room, making a very light line covering the entire length of each stripe, from ceiling to floor. Use the level frequently to make sure that lines are straight.
- 3). If you don't feel you have a very steady hand, tape off the edges of the stripes. Make sure the painter's tape is pressed down very securely. If you do have a steady hand, you may be able to skip this step and paint your stripes by hand.
- 4). Using the trim brush, first line the left of the stripes, then the right. Even if you are using tape, try to paint along the indicated line, and avoid painting on the tape as much as possible.
- 5). Fill in each stripe with wide, broad strokes. If you used painter's tape, you can remove it when the stripe is completed. The tape will be easier to remove while the paint is still wet.
