Wine Fundraising Made Easy
While the easiest answer may be a restaurant, most restaurants even those locally owned and operated will want a cut of any wine sold at your event.
For most of us, losing that type of margin is the worst thing that can happen at an event.
A private residence can not only host your party, but provide your guests with a more relaxed environment in which to spend time.
The next and most important question is what wines to pour.
In this way you have a few distinct choices as well.
If your fundraising coordinator has their own knowledge of wine, it is certainly possible to invite individual wineries to pour their wines at your event.
It's also nice to occasionally invite local wineries and ask them to take part, it's an especially good deal for these wineries because it seems more likely they would gain long term customers.
The other and more simple choice is to bring in a third party, like a wine club and ask them to fill the wine tables given their industry connections.
This allows you and your volunteers to focus solely on bringing out people to the event.
Of course, bringing people to the event is the most important task you'll have.
Without a wide range of wine drinkers and generous donors at your event, you'll be leaving money on the table.
It's also generally a good idea to attempt to gain some amount of local television, radio and print coverage for your event.
With that type of coverage, it is possible to have people who simply enjoy wine to come to your event and spend money for your charity.
