- 1). Position the deck post anchor bracket in the desired location on the stairs. Mark the location of the mounting holes in the bracket with a pencil. Set the bracket aside.
- 2). Drill a 1-inch deep pilot hole in the center of each mounting hole marking using a 1/16-inch drill bit.
- 3). Center the bracket over the pilot holes on the stairs. Drive the included screws through the mounting holes in the bracket with a screw gun.
- 4). Slide the bottom end of the post into the bracket. Drive the included screws through the mounting holes in the bracket into the post with a screw gun.
