How to Arrange Silk Flowers in a Tall Vase
- 1). Cut a piece of floral foam that will fit snugly into the vase and will fill at least the bottom half to two-thirds of the vase.
- 2). Place a piece of double-sided tape on the bottom of the floral foam and place the floral foam into the vase with the tape on the bottom of the foam to attach it securely to the vase.
- 3). Select your silk flowers according to the type of arrangement you are making. Select only a certain color of flowers or select only spring flowers or only summer flowers. Vary the kinds of flowers or use only one kind. Incorporate silk flowers in the budding stage and ones that are fully blooming. Select silk flowers that are a range of heights, with the tallest flowers being three times taller than the height of the vase.
- 4). Insert one or three of the tallest silk flowers so they are standing straight in the center of the vase.
- 5). Insert slightly shorter silk flowers surrounding the tallest center flowers. Use an odd number of flowers for the most pleasing effect.
- 6). Use slightly shorter flowers than the last group of flowers and fill in around the edge of the vase.
- 7). Add silk greenery around the outer edges of the vase to add green color and texture variation to the silk blooms. Fill in with additional greenery any open areas between flowers, if desired.
- 8). Bend some of the flower blossoms so that they face in a variety of directions that are pleasing to the arrangement. Go over each flower and separate each petal so the blooms look natural.
