Top the cake with a menacing werewolf or two. Using them as cake toppers adds a delightful element of fear. Look online or shop in baking supply stores or party supply stores for little plastic werewolves to use. Alternatively, try making edible werewolves using fondant, with fake blood and yellow eyes for effect. Another option is to print out small black-and-white or colored pictures of werewolves, stick toothpicks through them, and attach them to the cake. - Use a picture of your friend in his werewolf costume on the cake.Adam Taylor/Digital Vision/Getty Images
Inquire at the bakery or your grocery store's bakery department about having a werewolf image put on a cake. Most bakeries are able to do this with almost any image you like. Use a photo of your son in his favorite werewolf T-shirt, your husband in his werewolf Halloween costume, a page from a werewolf comic, a frightening werewolf drawing, or a werewolf movie poster such as 1985's "Teen Wolf," 1981's "An American Werewolf in London"or 1941's "The Wolfman." - Bake cakes, cut into werewolf shapes, and frost.Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images
Try your hand at making a three-dimensional werewolf cake. This may seem like a daunting task; however, with only basic baking knowledge, you can pull it off. An easy technique is to find a how-to guide for making a dog-shaped cake on line. Follow package directions to bake whatever kind of cake you like. Follow the instructions in the guide for how to cut and shape your cake to look like a dog. Finally, use fondant cut-outs, piping and colored frosting to make a fierce werewolf instead of a dog. - Put werewolf-themed words on the cake, such as "full moon."Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images
An easy idea for a novice baker on a budget is to simply pipe werewolf-related phrases and words onto the cake. Search online or in a dictionary of werewolf lore for vocabulary. On a small cake, use only the terms; on a larger cake, use the terms and definitions. Examples include "rogue: a werewolf who uses his shapeshifting abilities to take advantage of humans"; "carry-over traits: features of the wolf and human forms that can always be seen in the other"; and "feral: a werewolf that has forgotten his human identity."
