How Long Does It Take to Get Used to Eye Contacts?

    • There are two factors involved in adjusting to contact lenses. These are eye sensitivity and the type of contact lenses, either soft or rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses. The adjustment period can take as little as a day or as much as two weeks or longer. It's rare to find people whose eyes aren't ever able to get used to contact lenses.

Are Eye Contacts Hard to Care For?

    • There is a specific way to clean and care for contact lenses your eye doctor can inform you about. Daily-wear disposable lenses as well as certain extended-wear ones are disposed of after they're taken out, requiring no care.

What Types of Eye Contacts are Available?

    • There is a wide variety of contact lenses on the market depending on material (soft or rigid gas permeable), replacement and wear schedules. There are also special contact lenses, such as bifocals, colored lenses, UV-blocking ones and ones that are made especially for people with astigmatism.
