When considering a trip abroad or even a semester studying the rich history of Europe, Italy is often one of the main places of interest.
A trip to study abroad in Italy is one of the most popular destinations because of how much history, art, and culture are packed into one little country.
With its ancient ruins and places of interest an Italy study abroad program is certainly at the top of my list of places to spend a semester.
One of my favorite aspects of traveling to Italy study abroad or to simply to get away from the stress of modern life is how this country cherishes its history through traditional and delicious festivals and fairs, which are still alive from the northern parts of the country to the southern regions.
Italy is a modern-word country, which did not forget its traditions and rituals.
There are many events throughout the year in every town or village.
Once you make your final arrangements to study abroad in Italy, ask your advisors on some different and exciting ways to discover different views of Italy.
This makes for an excellent chance to learn its many different traditions.
I would recommend the spring and summer as the best seasons to visit and participate in its many festivals.
The abundance of pleasant weather brings lots of fresh products of the land in the form of wines, fruits and vegetables.
You'll quickly realize that these exciting fairs and festivals are the best way to get in touch with the culture, people and traditions of this wonderful and friendly country.
The Italian people are quite proud of their origins and show great pride in participating in the country fairs.
Most of these fairs are themed around a typical traditional Italian holiday, event, or harvest.
Every student I've spoken with cites these world-famous Festivals in Italy as one of their reasons for choosing to study abroad in Italy.
Some of these festivals include the Palio in Siena or Tuscany, the memorable San Gennaro Feast in Naples or Venice Carnival, or the always exciting Saint Efisio Festival in Cagliari.
These aren't the only happenings going on either.
Traveling through many towns on a cool summer night and you are bound to find some interesting festivals.
Visiting these many traditional fairs is also an excellent way of enjoying some of the best foods Italy as to offer while saving a lot of money in the process.
Foods served at these festivals are always available and quite inexpensive in comparison to the trendy restaurants.
Don't leave your Italy study abroad without tasting its world-famous wines or cheeses, along with its different pastas and traditional sweets.
