    • 1). Activate the muscle that opens the eustachian tube by constantly swallowing or yawning. Chew gum or suck on mints to produce saliva making it easier to swallow. For babies, feed them a bottle to suck on or a pacifier.

    • 2). Pinch your nostrils, take a mouthful of air then gently push the air against your cheeks.

    • 3). Take a decongestant pill or use nasal spray if steps one and two fail in providing relief or comfort.

    • 4). Consult your doctor or an ear specialist if problems of a clogged ear persist after trying the various methods outlined above.
