Kung Fu Comes to the Big Screen

Add yet another title to the long list of TV shows that serve as fodder for feature films. Legendary Pictures has picked up the film rights to the classic 1970s TV series, Kung Fu.

Series creator Ed Spielman and Howard Friedlander (a writer on the series) wrote the script, which will apparently be an origin story. The TV series ran from 1972-1975 and featured David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin Monk who travels throughout the American West helping people in need.

There's no word yet on whether Carradine, the original star of Kung Fu, will be involved in the movie.
