    • 1). Rinse the cast with cool tap water after swimming in a lake or chlorinated pool, and make sure there is no debris trapped at the opening of the cast.

    • 2). Wrap the cast-encased body part with a thick towel, and prop it on a couple of layers of thick towels to soak up excess water.

    • 3). Wait three to four hours for the cast to completely dry, or remove the towel wrapped around the cast and direct a hair dryer on low or medium heat onto the cast to hasten the drying process.
