The Best Face Cream Reviews Should Answer These 3 Key Questions Before You Buy

You might think that reading a face cream review is easy enough.
But if you don't read carefully, you could end up with a serious adverse reaction.
Here's what you should ask, before you buy.
What Are the Ingredients? Practically everyone (from the FDA on down) recommends reading the label of ingredients before you buy a product.
If it is a product you have never used before, you might want to test it on a patch of inconspicuous skin, before using it on your facial skin, unless the product is free of known allergens, toxins and irritants.
Be aware that reactions do not always occur immediately.
It sometimes takes several days of use before redness, irritation, itching or burning occurs.
What Are the Proven Benefits? Facial creams are regulated as cosmetics, even though they may provide more than a cosmetic benefit.
Company claims should be backed up by clinical studies.
Links to the original studies should be included at the company's website.
The average person might not be able to understand the studies, because of the scientific terminology.
But, you can read the bottom line results to see what the researchers actually had to say.
Who Wrote the Face Cream Reviews? In most cases, face cream reviews are written by consumers; users like you and me.
We should remember that we are getting that consumer's opinion.
Skincare products are very personal items.
What one person likes is not necessarily something I will like.
Some reviewers recommend looking for manufacturers that provide free samples.
In most cases, a free sample does not provide enough of the compound to even test for adverse reactions, much less to test for benefits.
My recommendation is to buy from a company that accepts returns on opened and unopened containers.
That way, you can give the product a try and judge the benefits, before making a final decision.
Other Things to Consider For safety's sake, you might consider reviewing information provided by Skin Deep, a cosmetic safety database created by the Environmental Working Group.
It is not just that cosmetics can cause you problems.
They can also cause problems for the environment.
Ingredients like triclosan, antibiotics, micro-beads and many others are not biodegradable.
They kill fish and wildlife.
Those are my suggestions about how to read a face cream review.
More informed consumers have fewer problems.
