Before beginning any work out, start by doing some stretching exercises in order to prevent any injuries. A very critical exercise to begin with would be calf raises. Next would be to do some free standing vertical jumps. Push yourself to extend your time on this exercise and try to jump as high as possible each time. Whenever the feeling of "I can't do this anymore" kicks-in, add another 10 counts. This is because no matter how strenuous this exercise is, it is one of those work outs that will quickly improve a person's capability to jump higher.
