Your Vision Can Be Your Cure - A Cancer Survivor Story
Let me start by admitting that the title of this article is vain.
It is not my intention to be cavalier about such tragedy and challenges as faced by those who are fighting cancer.
My family has a deep history with cancer; I lost my mother 5 years (although she was told she had only one year to live back in 1983) and my father is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
When I say that your vision can be your cure, my intent is to arm you with the awareness that your vision is critical to your future.
And that is true whether you are battling cancer, obesity, trapped at sea or just plain stuck in life.
First of all, we all think in images.
Don't believe me? I bet that you cannot think about your kids, your home or your car without at least a fleeting image of them.
Can you? You know you can't.
And, we all wired for success.
Let's say for a moment that I will give you $1,000 if you can get your hair trimmed in the next hour.
What did your mind immediately do? It began formulating solutions, didn't it? You may have thought of the local shop, how to use your personal relationships to get in with no appointment or that your neighbor can do the trimming.
Regardless of what idea you came up with, your mind began formulating solutions because we are all wired for success.
Now think about the stories you hear about survivors who were lost at sea, held captive or trapped in a mine.
The one's who cling to life and survive are the ones who had a vision - of something left undone or someone they wanted to see again.
Perhaps it was their daughter's wedding or their granddaughter graduating high school.
Whatever it was, their vision was so powerful that it saved their life.
You always hear them talk about their vision.
Virtually every self help course talks about the need to have a vision; to know what you want to accomplish in life and to keep that vision at the center of your attention.
If you were to have a photograph (or a clear image in your mind) of you doing something in the future - or looking a certain way - it would provide some level of certainty about you actually achieving that state of being.
It would excite, motivate and yes, empower you to stay the course with your diet, exercise or treatment plan over the long run.
You are a blessed being and we want you to experience the future that you deserve.
Grab a strong vision and let the vision empower you!
