A hemorrhoid suppository is yet another tool that helps in healing hemorrhoids and giving relief to the sufferer.
What is a hemorrhoid suppository? It's a small tube-like object that is actually inserted into the rectum to provide relief for hemorrhoid issues.
It's best to use them after a bowel movement.
These suppositories do one of two things, sometimes both.
The first kind actually give relief to itching and burning much like an ointment would on the outside of the rectum.
Another type actually lubricates the inside of the rectum so the next bowel movement is much smoother thus causing less irritation to the hemorrhoids on the inside or outside.

Suppositories can't be used at all if their is tearing or bleeding hemorrhoids.
So at the point where one needs the most relief a suppository can't be used.
Another negative is that they can actually harm anal tissues if used too long.
Most can't be used for any more than seven to ten days which is not enough time to properly heal from a hemorrhoid issue.
So this means this method of treatment is only a temporary option for relief as opposed to a full treatment for hemorrhoid problems.
