Throw a party and sell your house! Selling a home in any market is a challenge.
These days it can be nearly impossible.
Challenge or not, many people are forced into the market and need to sell a home.
Here's an idea that you should consider if you're selling the home you live in.
Throw yourself a going away party! Gather your address lists and invite everyone you know to your home on a weekend afternoon.
This special open house is going to be your chance to sell, or at a minimum have some fun.
This does not have to be anything fancy.
Coffee, soft drinks, and a box of cookies from the deli will do.
You want to play it down and make it easy for the guest to just drop by and spend a few minutes.
Prepare your home, clean clean clean! Prepare a simple flyer and make sure everyone know to take an extra to post at work, school, church etc..
Have a good time.
The down-side here is tiny.
Ten dollars will cover the treats and you might just find the perfect buyer.
You may think this sound too simple, but realize that each person in your circle of friends knows another 100 people, and by the time you've notified your list you've reach out to thousands.
This is not only a large pool but is the best source for a buyer as people that like you and your neighborhood are most likely to be a good buyer for your home.
Just consider it a small part-time job that may pay you a thousand bucks an hour.
If you find a buyer and don't know what do from there, you should find an agent to handle the details at a very reduced fee.
