How to Customize One Kind of Horse Racing Handicapping System to Meet Your Needs

Many people buy a horse racing system without realizing that no system will make a profit right out of the box.
The very best horse racing systems teach you a valuable skill or give you several tools you can use to make your handicapping more profitable, but no one is selling a real money maker as is.
That may sound a bit shocking coming from a man who teaches people how to handicap races, but it is true and the first thing I try to instill in my students is to be realistic.
If you don't have realistic goals and expectations, how are you ever going to succeed? Now I didn't say you can't make money with a good method of handicapping, I only said they don't show a profit right out of the box.
Think about that and be honest with yourself, who is going to figure out a sure-fire, guaranteed to make money, method of betting on the races and then sell it to you? That would be insanity.
There are people who make money on horse racing, but they don't have some little sure-fire trick to pick winning bets.
They do it by working at it and using tools that they have developed and learned over the years and they understand some of the fundamentals and basics of horse racing and horses.
There are several different kinds of horse racing betting and handicapping systems.
One of them is the situational method.
As the name implies, it spots horses in a particular situation and they are considered a good bet as long as the odds are right.
They are also sometimes called "spotplays.
" This is perhaps the fastest and easiest type of system to learn for a beginner or person who is trying to learn how to pick winners.
But even a good spotplay method still requires judgment.
There is no time that you should automatically bet on any horse, never.
Despite what some people will tell you, there is still some judgment required.
Judgment is what you add to the recipe for success.
That is how you can customize a system and soon be picking winners and making a profit from the races.
How you develop that judgment, and thereby customize the system, is to take notes and observe what happens at your favorite track(s).
Once you have observed spotplays at your track and made notes of what happened and what factors contributed to their winning or losing, you will have a customized horse racing system of your very own.
It doesn't take long but a little patience and intelligence will go a long way to make you successful at picking winning horses.
