Laundromats have been in the business for quite some time now but in the recent years these places have been slowly revolutionized.
In the past years, Laundromats have been seen as boring places to drag yourselves in to just so you can have your clothes washed.
Going to these places are really a chore, one that you can never get away from.
So what changes have been made to laundry places nowadays? From being such boring places and containing only laundry machines, there are Laundromats these days that have coffee shops, internet availability, and even a kids place where children can wait for the parents to finish doing the laundry.
Ways have been made to help people enjoy their laundry time since it is a weekly task that they should be able to accomplish before their day gets busy again with work and everything else that happens in life.
According to Brian Wallace, president and CEO of the Coin Laundry Association, the trend of making coin laundries more comfortable is quite prevalent.
A new service that is also offered in laundry places are the wash and fold drop off service where one can just pick up their clothes after it has been washed and folded for them.
Since life is getting busier by the minute, this service is garnering popularity quickly.
Most people nowadays have less time to spare doing their laundry that they just pay to get it done for them.
Drop off services allows customers to relax at the comfort of their own home for the short time that they have for free while their dirty clothes are being taken care of.
This kind of service requires you to employ several people to get the job done.
It may add up to your expenses but it might just be worthwhile when time is a luxury that most people can no longer afford.
Even at the time of recession, the Laundromat industry has managed to thrive since it is considered a necessity especially in metropolitan areas where renters abound and on university neighborhood where college students have no other way of washing their clothes but in coin operated laundries.
With this into account, location is also a consideration in getting into this type of business.
It may offer an ongoing income opportunity, but in order to grow you have to build your name at the right place with the right services offered.
This type of business is not to be taken lightly of since it requires a big amount of money to help you get started.
It also needs an area with ample space to allow proper human traffic during those busy weekends.
A good $200,000 to $500,000 is needed to finance a 3,000 square feet with laundry equipment enough for a projected number of laundry goers.
Utilities such as electricity and water should not be left out of the picture and be properly covered since these two are essential in helping you operate every single day.
Make sure that when you decide that this is the business for you, your place is convenient, interesting and most of all, it would be able to cater to your customers with a minimal waiting time.
