Rearrange Your Play Room With Family In Mind

Our basement has traditionally been a mostly overlooked space.
Odd, considering we spend the majority of our time as a family down there.
We don't use our "living room" to watch TV or play games because it's too public.
To really settle down and "live" in the room would mean there'd be disruption and mess in the first room off the front door.
I didn't like that idea, so we opted for the finished basement instead.
The room is large enough for everything we do together as a family.
There's a pool table and dart area, space for the kids toys, and a TV area.
But one day we realized something was missing - a place for our kitty Tabby to call her own! With the high ceilings and plenty of room, we knew it was time to get Tabby some cat trees so that she could come down and join us.
First we had to consider where we'd put the cat trees.
Placement would be important because we wanted them to be visible so that when Tabby started having fun, we could sit and watch her antics easily.
In the end we opted for a large corner near the television.
That way we could get entertained twice! Once by the TV and another by Tabby.
After measuring the space, we went online to compare configurations of cat trees along with prices.
Some had really nice finishes and trims while others looked very rustic.
We opted for some middle ground and went with some cat trees that had enclosures as well as platforms at various heights.
Tabby loves to scratch, so sisal-covered posts was really important.
It didn't take long for the cat trees to arrive and get them set up.
With a few bites of cat nip hidden here and there, we were able to coax Tabby downstairs where she discovered her new play area.
Now the whole family can be together and relax in one comfortable room.
