    • 1). Cut your fabric to an inch or two larger than your desired banner size to leave room for hemming. Hem the right and left side of the banner with your sewing machine or by using a needle and thread. Hem the top and bottom sides the same way, except be sure to sew in a 1-inch casing on the right and left end of the top and bottom to make room for the dowels.

    • 2). Choose the silk flowers to be used on your banner, preferably those that match the color scheme of your wedding. Prepare them by pulling off the stems and separating the petals. Use a pencil to write the initials of you and your spouse or a saying of your choice. Glue the petals over the written letters to make a floral monogrammed banner.

    • 3). Insert the dowels into the casings you made, allowing about an inch or so of them to extend out of the banner. Tie ribbon around the extending dowels and use it to hang the banner.
