Denver Hiking Clubs
- With an elevation of 5,280 feet, it may take some time for you to be acclimated enough to hike in Denver, Colorado. Denver offers wooded trails, introductory hikes and more difficult mountain trails. Hiking clubs introduce hikers to other hikers and offer guides and training while allow you to build friendships with fellow hikers.
- As of 2010, this hiking club costs $20 annually and is only open to adult members. No children or pets are allowed on the walks. Hikers usually meet at a Denver-area park-and-rides and ride together to the hike location. A carpool fee of 7 cents for each mile is paid to the driver. The Happy Hikers Hiking Club offers a variety of hikes each month. Hikes are rated based on distance, starting elevation, highest elevation and trail hazards.

happyhikersclub.org - Founded in 2003, by Joy Opp, this Denver metro-area hiking club is exclusive to mothers and children under the age of 5. As of 2010, annual unlimited hiking is $65 and punch cards can be purchased for $25 or $45. Hikes are in four groups: hiking with newborn to 2 years, hiking with children 2 to 5 years, mountain biking with children and stroller walks with children.

cmc.org - The Denver Chapter of this club offers hikes on a weekly basis, with costs for each hike split between the hikers participating. Other activities sponsored by the club include concerts, education and social gatherings. The Colorado Mountain Club also operates a library and learning center devoted to mountaineering.
