The Pushkar Festival also known as Pushkar Fair/Pushkar ka Mela is basically the largest livestock and camel fair in the world. In addition, cattle fair is also one of the parts of Pushkar Festival. The purpose of this festival is that camel and livestock merchants carry out their work during 'Kartik Purnima' in Pushkar. This festival begins during the period of October - November every year with the start of 'Kartik Shukla Ekadasi' and ends up on the 5th day of Kartik Purnima. People on this festive occasion buy livestock in bundles and sell them.

Pushkar Festival is one of the old traditional festive styles. It is rated as India's one of the most epic travel experiences. There are several interesting activities that are part of attractions in the fair such as 'bridal competition', 'moustache', 'Matka Phod', 'horse dance', 'horse race', 'Laadoo oonth' and many more. The camels are properly dressed up, shaved, etc. for the ongoing 5 day carnival. The pilgrims receive mighty blessings of God as they bathe on the day of full moon. The day pilgrims bathe is the most appropriate period of the year. More than 2, 50,000 people become the part of this festival. Many magicians, acrobats, snake charmers fascinate the crowd with their phenomenal acts so that the people can learn about the true essence of Rajasthan.

People during their stay can experience the rural life in Pushkar. The prayers during the Pushkar Fair are made at the 'Jagat Pita Shri Brahma Temple'. In the night, oil lamps are lit by the students and priests that are floated in the lagoon. It is given the name of "Deep-Dan".
