Easy Steps on How to Get the Right Keywords For Longtail
Longtail marketing is the best place to be as most of the people searching on this level are buyers.
So learning how to do this will help you not only get traffic, but it will increase your sales as well.
First I head over to the free word tracker tool.
You can find this by typing in "free wordtracker" into the Google search bar.
The I type in my keyword phrase I am looking to score on.
Typically I like to use the phrase "how to" in front of the keyword.
Example for this article I typed in; "how to keyword".
As an example, I typed in how to keyword and I found the phrase how to get the right keywords as the phrase I am interested in.
It showed me that there where roughly 10 searches a day for this phrase, which by the way is a long tail phrase.
Google also has their own free keyword tool and you can find it by going to Google.
com and typing in free Google keyword tool.
I use this tool after I have found my phrase at wordtracker.
Go to Google.
com and now put your longtail keyword phrase into the search bar and do a Google search on it.
By doing this it will give you a results number 1-10 of X number of pages.
Mine had 24 million competing phrases.
But is this really my competition? Now the fun begins...
With the Google search still open and your phrase in the search bar, place quotes around your entire phrase.
It will look like this: "how to get the right keywords".
By doing this you are telling Google to show you how many pages have that exact phrase.
You will find a much different number in the results.
How to get the right keywords went from 24 million without quotes to 24, 000.
This is my real competition..
24 thousand is much more doable as far as rankings versus 24 million.
Now we will proceed to break out competition down one more time The final step to determine if I have the right keyword is to use what is called the all in title.
Even though there is 24,000 pages, this does not mean they know how to SEO.
It will look like this Your keyword phrase with allintitle: in front of it.
By using my example phrase, how to get the right keywords, I found only 60 competing webpages.
Anything under 1000 competing all in title pages alerts me that I should be able to build some content around my phrase and properly optimize it and get it ranked very quickly in the search engines.
This is very targeted traffic that is looking for a very specific answer to a question they have.
Now I will produce that answer and if I have a product to offer them, they will be more apt to buy.
This is the way to do longtail keyword research and best of all, everything you use is free to determine how to find the right keywords for your websites.
