    Ruth Toilet Paper Craft

    • Download a printable sheet of a picture online of Ruth gathering wheat. Cut out the pieces of her feet, arms, head, garment and basket. Alternatively, draw and color Ruth's head, arms, feet, garment and basket of sheaves. Glue the pieces of her body to a toilet paper roll to create a three dimensional character. Affix the basket of wheat sheaves to Ruth's arms.

    Bread Bible Verses

    • Cut out a piece of beige construction paper to resemble a slice of bread. Write Bible verses related to the story of Naomi and Ruth on to each bread slice. Glue the bread slices on to a blank construction paper. Add glue to the paper around the bread slice and sprinkle grains of dried wheat from craft stores on to the glue. Explain how Ruth gleaned the wheat.

    Harvest Bags

    • After reading the story of Ruth and Naomi, show the children in your Sunday School class how to make harvest bags. Distribute magazines with photos of vegetables, fruit and harvest/fall items. Ask the children to cut out pictures of food pieces from the magazines. Glue the images on to brown paper lunch bags to create harvest bags. Fill the harvest bags with yellow pipe cleaners to look like wheat sheaves.

    Family Necklace

    • Create family necklaces to help children remember how important it is for family members to stick together. Provide a piece of string and wide, hollow pasta pieces for each child. Have the children write the names of their immediate family members, such as their mother, father, brother and sister, on a pasta piece. Lay the string flat on a table and thread the pasta noodles on to the piece of string. Tie the ends of the string together for each child to wear home.
