Working Up a Good Sweat
Few situations are more satisfying in a gym than leaving the workout area with your top dripping from sweat, and if you know you've done your best for that day.
I've exercised my whole life, and also done an assortment of sports in recent times, and want to put out there some good exercise techniques which guarantee to cause you to sweat, and offer you a thorough workout.
The foremost is skipping.
This is one of my favourite cardio exercises.
It will take some time to master, and get used to, but after you do, it's definitely worthwhile.
I normally skip from foot to foot, pushing off from both legs at the same time, running on the spot, there are many different ways in which to work up a great sweat via skipping.
Another exercise I do to work up a good sweat, and which isn't very common among gym goes is box jumps.
Box jumps are when you get the step box, place it ahead of you, with your legs straddling it, you then hop onto the box, and hop back down, with your legs again straddling, that is one rep.
You repeat as required, I normally aim for fifty before moving onto another exercise.
Utilizing the same item of equipment again, I'll then do bunny hops.
Bunny hops are quite much like box jumps, but rather then hopping onto the box and back onto the floor, we'll be hopping over the box, from side to side.
Place both hands out before you and resting on the far end of the box, with both your feet together to one side, so your leaning onto the box.
Then, keeping your hands firmly placed on the box, push off from both your feet so that you hop onto the other side of the box, with your legs together.
Do this again, and this is one rep.
Again, I normally opt for fifty reps.
Various other great ways in which to work up a decent sweat are cycling, rowing, using the x-trainer, running machine as well as the stepper machine.
Whenever using these machines, aim to keep to a high interval training technique of doing exercise, which basically means, as opposed to exercising at a steady pace on these machine, you go at a normal speed for a period of time, and then a burst of quick speed for a short time, going as quickly as you are able to, for 15 seconds for example.
Continue accomplishing this, until you reach the time you'd normally stop at.
Training in this way, will have you leaving a fitness centre soaking with sweat, and satisfied with yet another great performance.
